Absence of the Sun is made up of a few different shitty garage bands. In 2002-2003 Mark Waller and Matt Roma were in
a crappy half assed band called Object of Defiance. Thier drummer left and moved to Lisbon so they stared playing with drummer
Manuelito Ramos. They contiued to play without singing or bass for a while until Dan Pelletier, who was in an equally shitty
"band", agreed to join. The lineup was finalized in early 2005 with singer Jake Phipps.
